Return Spring location on a 5spd

Hey guys.

I lost the return spring (somehow) that connects to the shifter, so the shifter is just flailing around and wobbly.
I have another spring to replace it, and I can see where one end connects (to the return spring bracket), but I can't actually see the hole where the other end of the spring hooks on to.
Is it on the control rod?

Thanks.
