Has anyone used this brand to install onto their 3rd gen SE maxima?

They claimed that it should work without any problems but I wanted to run it by the group to save me some time and headaches.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

My thought is that you should buy it and test it out for us. Also specify if you have the VE or VG engine. There have been some problems with clearance or something with the VEs. We would all love to find a nice, in-expensive FSTB that actually fits like it should with out "bending".

How much is it? Links?

Sorry, newbie error.. How selfish and vague of me.

They have it on EBAY for auction but you can get it regularly for $80 plus shipping. I would more than willing to try to get a group deal for the rest of the members. Can I get an idea of who would be interested?

I asked them specifically about the SE 3rd gen fitting problems and they claimed to be selling these things for 8 yrs now without any problems.

If they agree to take this FSTB back if it does not fit, then I will be more than willing to be the experimenter to do the retrofit. If it works well, I can post all the information for the rest to see.

Basic description:
NISSAN MAXIMA POLISHED ALLOY STRUTBAR
Pictured are many strut bars we carry, these are all nicely POLISHED Liteweight Strong aluminum Center sections, with painted feet (usually red) but they can easily be painted any color you want later. This OBX Racing upper front strut bar to fit all 89-98 Maximas! Bolts on in a few minutes, the results last as long as you drive your car! Minumize body flex and helps keep alignment true in hard cornering. You'll feel the difference the first time you take a hard corner! Hey..and it looks great too when you pop the hood to show your friends! Installs with basic hand tools in a few minutes.

Yeah I would like to get one for my 90 GXE, I am pretty close to getting one from Courtesy, but would be interested in other options, especially if we can get a price break. I know there was at least one person who posted in the group deal section asking about one for a third gen. CS

Yes I want one for my 90 GXE. Is the bending of the Courtesy bars only for SEs or would I have to do it for my car too? I was actually going to get mine this weekend from them, but would always like to save a little dinero.
I was looking in group deals a couple of days ago and there was at least one person who was looking for one for his 3rd gen. CS

well, i've already had this FSTB for a couple of months now. and it DOES NOT fit the VE without modification. i've done so much custom crap to the OBX bar i have, i should just call it a James Racing Sports FSTB. lol. you could always bend it, which was not an option for me. that's the cheap and crappy way out. i made custom mounts for mine that raised it up above the engine properly.if you have a VG, then great! the bar looks better than the courtesy bar too, imo. i got mine from alex at southwest autoworks for $40.

OBX VE

I bought the OBX for my VE too. Somehow got it on, took it off after a week after I noticed it was slowly scraping away at my AC hose and intake manifold. I am going to try and comission my mechanical engineering friends to design and fabricate custom brackets for me, but for now, its just sitting in my trunk.
