I like the split spokes better. every one seems to be buying sportmax 5 spokes in the last two months.

They are a very good looking rim but I love your old ones better. And if you have them after I fix/sell the 4th gen I'll buy em.

Gold wheels =

I like the way your car looked previously so much better, with the orange corners/blinkers and alloy rims. Almost resembled a bimmer. Your car still looks good, but I like it much better before.

Hey James, did Michael smoke some corners for you or did you buy UKs?

I like how that looks on there. I might be putting on different fogs and some smoked corners might add to the look of the front a bit.

yeah I tinted his corners and turn signals. Unless you either paint the inside corners of the factory lights (AE style like I have on a couple of cars) or put E36s in I wouldnt put in smoked corners...looks out of place imo.

hahahah. James, your car was my reason for getting a Maxima. It's so weird how you got the same rims as me (minus the color difference). Sick car, seriously.

Do you have a pic of the AE style paint you have done?

Are you using the stock glass or the new "euro" style clear ones?

James, as a Texas driver, have you had any problems driving without the front license plate? I am thinking of removing mine, and I see a lot of cars that dont have one like it doesnt seem to matter even though its Texas law to have it.

I've honestly never had a problem at all on either of my Maxima's with no front plate. My front plate was actually lost for years, and when I got my custom plates a few months ago, I stuck the front plate in the front windshield just in case.

The threaded holes in the bumper for the plate actually have old screws broken/stuck in there, so I couldnt mount the plate if I wanted to (coincidentally this will be my explanation to the cop if I ever do get pulled over ).

Anyway, my experience with the no front plate has always sort of been it's one of those things that an officer COULD get you on if he wanted to be a major jerk off. Sort of like if you got pulled over for speeding he might get you for no front plate and check your tint and and anything else he can while he's got you pulled over.

I actually did get pulled over a year or so ago in my brother's '83 Civic for no front plate, but didnt get a ticket or anything. I had the plate in the car and told him it had fallen off and I didnt get around to putting it back on and he let me go.

To everyone else, looks like I wont be rolling on the gold ones for long. Since the car parks at my moms house, she threw a major fit with the color/flashyness of the wheels (ie attracting possible crime/theft - official break-in total for my car = 11). I told her if she'll foot the bill for me to upgrade to 18's in gunmetal, then I'm all for it. So that'll happen next week I'm selling the gold ones to a Sentra Spec V guy

I thought they changed the law a few years back saying it was ok to just have it in the back now.

Sadly no, the law is right here:

scroll down to 502.404

There is an internet petition to change it though, and thats here:

Iuno. I thought they were actually supposed to be 'cracking down' on that a few years ago

They were cracking down on license plate frames, because they "obstructed" the characters on the plate

thanks...glad you like them.

as far as the pics go I didnt want to go to OT in your post but since you said you dont mind I will post them for you...it was just a collection of 3 cars I had with the UK corners (and one with the painted corners) and headlights painted ae style.

here are the pics.

My old 92GXE with true UK corners:

My old 92GXE with corners I painted:

my old 92SE with true UK corners:

and the car I just finished (the lights are foggy in this pic because the lights had water in them) with true UK corners:

Hopefully the guy that bought my car doesn't have a problem with the front license plate not being on the car (he is in TX as well). I filled the holes on the bumper a while back. I asked him if he wanted me to drill them out and put the license plate holder on the car and he said no so hopefully he can just put it in the windshield like you have yours.

My front plate is in just a little offset with 2 black interior screws. PO snapped off the screws for a front holder. No issue for 2 years. But why screw up a perfect bumper, Id just toss it in the windshield.

Because in some states not only is it illegal to have the plate in the windshield but it is also required to have the plate mounted in the part of the car that is MOST up front meaning the front bumper. Oh and you're also in the ghetto/half *** side so that might explain it too

In texas is it legal to ahve it in the windsheild and not on the front of the car or does it have to be mounted "legally"? J/W because I'm thinking of getting the stillen kit and I dont want the liscence plate there if I dont have to have it

Oh and what do the new rims look like?
