Bosch to NGK

So, my mechanic installed new Bosch platinum plugs when he was working on my car because he noticed that the old ones needed replacing. Him being a nice guy, I didn't complain or have them replaced w/ the NGK's. When I drove the car from his shop, I did notice the difference the new plugs made. Now, hungry for more power, I am wondering if I should just go ahead and replace the Boschs with NGK's and save / sell the Boschs to someone else. Anyone ever done this switch for the same reason? Will I feel a difference?

undestanding what you mean!? are the Boschs causing problems? if not then just keep them in there, but if they start causing probs, than definently take 'em out and put in some NGKs. as for NGK plugs showing more performance output than Bosch plugs, I highly doubt there is a difference.

NGK's are better for maximas. Even if you change your current spark plugs to NGK's, I doubt you will feel a noticable difference since they are both new. Nissan recommends using NGK spark plugs though.

Spark plugs

I have been running the Bosch platinums in my car for several years without problem. I have a VG and I understand that I don't need platinum anyway, and now I am experiencing a rough idle when I stop at lights. So I am replacing the bosch with the NGKs. I am also replacing my wires, cap, and rotor button. How much of a difference are there between Nissan replacements and the various aftermarket brands. I can save a little money by gettting some of the parts(wires) at advance, just wondering if anybody could suggest which way to go, or even better which way not to go. :wall

NGK

i just replaced my plugs the other day, from my old ngk platinum plugs, to the new NGK V-Power plugs. definate difference.. always go with NGK for a foreign car.. bosch are mainly produced torward the american market. NGK's also have spark plugs with that new iridium core, like the DENSO iridium plugs that are all over the nopi scene. haven't tried them yet though, but considering soon.. you can goto the NGK website and it explains in detail about each NGK plug and the differences.. check it out sometime.

Use NGK Plat, period

Ok...I used Bosch plat because I thought NGK plat is overpriced. I learn my hard lesson.

My car started to hesitate when accelerate. I first found one cracked coil. I replaced it and car ran fine for another 10k. Then more serious problems occur - hesitation during acceleration, even stall on highway. I had it in a Nissan dealer and they found 2 more bad coils. Replaced and fine for another 10k. Then same thing happened to me again and I ended up order the remaining 3 coils and I bited the bullet and replace with all original NGKs and the car runs fine since then. If you have the DE engine, don't risk with Bosch. I think the characteristic is different with Bosch thus makes my coils go bad. Having said that doesn't mean Bosch is no good. I use Bosch plat on my Honda and never have a problem. It gives me more power then the regular NGK Honda calls for.

Saturday morning project..

With all that said, just bought my NGK plugs at pepboys and will change out plugs, wires (8mm thundervolt), cap and rotor-saturday morning project!
