FSTB question

Hello! I just received the FSTB from ebay but I feel this thing is not adjusted properly, please correct me if I'm wrong, the Bar should be a little bit loose? or tight enough that you are unable to move it for even 2mm fro the bracket, please check the picture and tell me if this is normal, I will really appreciate your help.

Ok I hope the Image upload works (first time I try this) sorry for the too small red arrow, I believe there shouldn't be any movement from where the arrow is, how is you FSTB? the same? diff? Thanks in Advance.

Theoretically, it shouldn't matter, since most of the force is in compression/tension in the bar, so there shouldn't be any side to side movement going on, even if there is that gap. But if you are still worried, you could always tighten that crossbolt there to close the gap.

Off the car,the whole thing will be loose fitting...

On the car with everything tightened down,it should not have any play at all...

So? Can I use a washer or something there to make it tight, or won't be the same performance.

Ok I Trust you , just one more thing, I was afraid of removing the nuts from the area where the bracket go, I keep thinking that the strut may become loose or something and hard to put back, this won't happen right? I mean can I remove the nuts put the bracket on without any special tool?

Thank you for the help!

If the bracket arms bend when you tighten the end bolts make sure you use washers to space them back out. If you tighten the bolts with the bracket arms bent you will most likely bend the bolts. Been there, done that.
