So, are thoes ball joints the moog, the generic, or the ones that come with the LCA's? Also, how does the quality compare among the three?

I would at LEAST put the poly bushing on your RIGHT control arm. Good idea to do both the forward and rear, but you could get away with just the rear bushing (the BIG one). You can easily get that off without a blowtorch by getting it in a vise real good and twisting it around about 8 times to loosen the glue, then start to twist and pull. Some WD-40 might work a little, but I did it without any.

http://replacement.autopartswarehous...shing&dp=false

Just tell your dad that you NEED this bushing, (or set) for the right side, or - if you have any kind of leak, it will deteriorate the bushing and start to screw up your camber, toe-in and general alignment. That would then waste the time it will take you to get in there and replace them, AND possibly cost you a set of new front tires. Trust me.. I learned the hard way, and its a good thing I looked under the car after finding out about the poly bushings. If I knew stupid nissan was using natural rubber I would have sought an alternative BEFORE installing my brand new arms.

Like other ORG members have said, you can NEVER stop passenger side leaks. Something always drips somewhere, even if it is very slow.
Mad props if your max doesnt leak.

If it does leak, it's only when it running and maybe only turning.

The short version: opposes strut movement, and links the suspension to the chassis on the bottom of the car.

Deridex: Its what allows your wheels to travel up and down.

maxima_man1992: Most likely any oil or power steering fluid that IS dripping, is just hitting other components or part of the chassis. I think in most cases, it drips onto things and some gets onto the axle, which slings it around everywhere, pretty much evenly coating everything. I also think that if enough grime and dirt coats the leak point, that it might crust and stop leaking. A nice pothole or speed bump might start the leaking again in that case.. but I think mine has stopped leaking due to dirt buildup. I use cardboard too and didnt see anything. Its getting steam cleaned ATM and I will be able to easier spot leak points after everything is shiny.

Would a leaking power steering fluid really cause that much of a problem? How much does it usually cost to get a new rack and pinion or rebuild it?

the rack is rarely what is leaking, it's usually the hose which is a $40 or so part

I posed the question earlier but no real response, is there really much of a difference between the moog and the generic ball joints? I need to change both my ball joints and my tie rod ends, don't want to spend a bunch-o-cash, but I also don't want to buy crap. Know what I mean?

That depends on the generics you are getting. some are crap, some are OK.
Lately the ones we've been getting at work are better than the moog ones
