taillight rewire?

i have seen the 'taillight rewire' posted on many sites...but what exactly does it do? i've read it a hundred times, but i just don't get it....i'm a little slow!

picture your brake lights being your signal lights and signal lights being your brake lights...its just switching from one to the other

I think the the above is even more confusing. I myself dont quite get the point to it either.

Taillight & Headlight rewires I still dont quite get, Im slow too!

it means: your blinkers will become your brake lights (the amber lights will get brighter when you step on the brakes), and your brake lights will become your blinkers (the red lights will blink)

that sounds really stupid and unsafe. ya know, just because you CAN do something to your car doesnt mean you SHOULD.....
