Wierd gas/check engine light problem
been trying to figure this out and cannot make sense out of it. If i get down to a 1/8 of a tank my check engine light turns off and stays off while i am in that range but if it gets low enough for the gas light to come on or i put gas in it it turns back on. Car runs great, lil hesitant when cold at low acceleration, once it warms up it is fine. At first i thought maybe it was the temp outside because if my CAI and a coincidence but i have been watching this over the last couple months and it does it regardless of the temp outside and now i am stuck scratching my head... any thoughts???
Buddy thinks it is my O2 sensor but i can't see how that can be related

might be a dying fuel pump, or a clogged fuel filter. Gas gets low pump cant pump enough, and boom engine hesitation.
Oh I thought CEL comes on only when low. The opposite being true, I'd guess bad MAF or o2 sensor but definitly pull the codes, as thats very strange...
