relocated coolant overflow tank.

found a spot that almost seemed made for it.

just below the passenger headlight, inside the bumper, just in front of the washer bottle. There was a threaded hole on the frame just there, and was able to attach it directly to it.

will extend the filler neck via an extended neck from my spare washer bottle, and will most likely check the level visually through the filler neck with some kind of indicator inside the bottle.

don't mind the dirty bay, she's gonna get a good cleaning soon.

the main reason, is to clean up the engine bay. I hate cluttered engine compartments....it will also make it easy to work with stuff up there, check belts, etc.

edit: that knife up there in the top pic was an integral tool, FTW.

You'll have gravity working against you when the radiator sucks coolant out, probably won't be a problem though, there should be sufficient vaccum. Seems like a lot of work just to get the tank out of view, if you wanted the space for a second battery i'd understand, but i'd probably just relocate it to the battery bracket like ABS equipped models if that were the case. Hope it works out, I agree, the VE bay is pretty cramped..

Was the lighter useful, too?

hectic: i did actually think about running another battery for my audio over there, but i'll just put that in my trunk....i have been looking into turbos just to learn a little more about them in case i ever wanna try one. any room i gain in the engine bay will help with that also. even if it wasn't on the intake side of the engine bay, i could move stuff from that side to the other.

maxitech: a lighter is almost always as important as a knife, like for heating it to cutplastic like buttah, plus i'm a smokerr. actually, i tried to shrinkwrap my foglight connections, but the tubing i used was

haha no, no, no! there's no blue output! i swear it! want a pic? i'll get one tonight. they're just bright white. i hate that ricer colored bulb . what in the world could a blue output type bulb help you see?

on another note, i don't think i like your tone....

edit: i think the blue coloring helps with 'ambering' of your light....such as the blue caps over the gauge lights.

i bought silverstar ultras. they have a blue coating. thus the light is white. but with stock 9004s, it washes out really badly on the road. I couldn't see my light so i tried to take them back. they refused to authorize the refund. I haven't been back to Autozone since. Now i'm going to do a Xtravision 9007 conversion. Just need to steal my dad's dremel and get to work.

finally put the angled coolant bypass on. lost a little coolant but it's OK. I started it up, ran it until the fans came on, then shut it off. Now i'll let it cool down and see if it has an air bubble.

i think that might be what these are, but i'm not sure....i use advance nowadays, even though an o'reillys is 1/16th of a mile away, if that. ;X

advance gives me my 10% discount, and as long as the guy is working that see's me come in 3 - 4x a day, i'll get his 20% discount

those are coolblues. silverstar ultras have a white rubber ring, yours is blue.

now i have to say something else about coolant. um. if you have a small air bubble that works its way up to the radiator cap when the car is running, and it's facing up hill, won't the system self-bleed when the coolant pressure is high enough to push coolant out anyways, since the air is already going to be on top and will come out first and stuff?

i DO believe so, although, i'm in detailing mood, and not really into the science stuff tonight....but whatever get's to that hole will go down to the overflow tank if it gets pushed....the water shouldn't bypass the bubble.

therefore, in that line of thinking, then yes, it will self bleed. But i am not positive about this.

haha not at all man.......why? oh...wow, my avatar did change.... hmm, the power of sparta is strong i guess.

on a side note.....my engine runs a bit cooler now. never seen such clean GREEEEN antifreeze after 12k miles, and the levels checked out good with a duo-meter.

don't know what this mod would have to do with keeping the engine cooler at all, but i have noticed a difference in the temp.

Sounds like your thermostat is stuck open, since it is designed to keep the engine at a constant temp.

well it's staying JUST below where it was previously....after the post i remembered i had degreased and pressure washed the entire engine/transmission....maybe that has something to do with it.....

then again, maybe its psychosomatic and i was only wanting something to change, so it appeared to. i dunno.

heat radiating better off the cleaner metal of the engine itself?

The thermostat would close a bit in responce to the lower coolant temp., bringing it back up to where it should be.

i've seen this setup before. question is, did you eliminate your PCV? seems you plugged the breather up. Just put on a breather filter on there, if you have a pcv system in place.

anyhow, turns out my radiator cap is leaky. So i'm about to go out and put my new one on, now that it's cooled down.
