Have a 94 se w/bose

just bought new pioneer 4x6s for the front and 6x9s for the back, also a 12" sub w/600W amp for the trunk (obviously)

Question what size are my stock front speakers. crutchfield said the 4x6s would be easy plus installation (needs a speaker plate) will the new speakers be bigger or smaller than the old ones.

Also. what will I do about the amps for the stock speakers when I get the new ones installed. are they, or the speakers worth anything. There wasn't anything really wrong with them, I just wanted new stuff and a sub.

 

i have a 90 se and i believe the front stock speakers are 6.5" speakers which in your case would be bigger than your new ones. i have replaced mine with 6.5" speakers, so it should be the same for you also. i know that the rear stock speakers are 6"X9" speakers, which i replaced with a 6.5" plate because i think 6.5" speakers give out better highs.

 

Reed, the front speakers on the Bose are 4". For the Non-Bose system, they are 4x6.

 

the front speakers cannot be 4". when i got my aftermarket speakers put in, they took out my BOSE ones and they were 6.5", i am pretty sure.

 

The actual speaker of the Bose system is a 4 inch speaker in the doors. With the way the amps are built around each individual speaker, it would take up a third of the door if the speakers were 6.5s. I know that in order to put 6.5s in my doors I had to take the entire amp caseing with the speaker out, in order to make room for my 6.5s. By the way, I still have both my front door Bose amps and speakers still in the caseing, if anyone wants to buy them from me. Actually, I have the entire Bose system, amps attached to the 4s, head unit, and 6x9s, from my 91 SE if anyone wants the whole damn thing. Let me know..
