I have Maxima 89 for about six months now. I am confused about automatic door lock. Is it supposed to lock door automatically after you exceed certain speed and/or after you get out of the car? The reason I am asking this is that the car started doing this locking a couple of days ago, the it stopped now. Can somebody explain this?

Thanks

Yes, it is supposed to lock the doors at a certain speed. For me it is about 20Kph so whatever that is in miles should be the approx speed for you. Some car alarms have an auto lock feature for when you switch the car off but the bog standard Maxima doesn't have this feature (as far as I'm aware).

The door lock timer module sometimes plays up, (I can hear mine clicking every now and then) and some people have fixed it with resoldering the joints in the module.

Do a search for the lock timer and you may find some more info.

Brent.
