Have a question
Hey, a couple of days ago I was trying to buff out some small scrathes. Well I kinda made it worse...the scrathes came out but now in small spots the paint has been ruined. The paint where I used the rubbing comound is now dull and bad looking. Does anyone have any idea what I could use to fix that? Thanx!!!
Ummm.... did you say you used "rubbing" compound
, or "polishing" compound? Rubbing compund is more abrasive than polishing compound, and will eat through more paint awfully quick. Depending on how deep the scratches were, a polishing compound might have been enough.
Assuming you haven't gone through the clearcoat (if applicable) you might be able to fix it with gentle use of a polishing compound, which should bring most of the shine back. Follow up with a cleaner-type wax (something that sounds like it can fix slightly dull/scratched paint). Good luck!
