help on manual tranny fluid fill!!!!

ok, when i filled it after i put the clutch in, i had the front jacked up. anyway, there was a 1/2" drive plug that i opened and ijust kept filling till it overflowed. did i do that right? let me know guys. thanks!

That's how I did it. The FSM sez it holds 10 pints, and I had about 1/4 cup run back out after pouring the 5th bottle of MTL, so I figgered that must be about right!

that's correct, but MAKE SURE THE CAR IS LEVEL!!
otherwise, if you have the front end jacked up, you'll overfill the tranny and the fluid sits on the input shaft seal... wellll, since that seal is pretty old, it probably leaks a tad.. which means it leaks tranny goo all over your clutch.

Quick question. What did you do with the intake and valve cover from your GXE? Isn't it set up differently on the SE?

Thanks for that info! I did fill mine with the front lifted, so I just pulled the plug again and a little bit drained back out (about 1/4 cup I'd guess). Now I feel a whole lot better! btw - who makes your lightened flywheel, and what clutch did you go with?
