Adjusting Parking Brake
I had my rear brakes done on my 3rd gen max and now my parking brake is way too loose. If i pull it all the way up it barely holds the car in place. I know the adjustment is underneath the rear of the car, but does anyone know which side of the car its on or does anyone have some detailed directions? Any help would be great..thanks
there is a small nut inside the car that can be adjusted
you will have to remove the whole center console
there are 6 screws total - 2 up front on each side, 2 in back on each side, and 2 larger ones right in the middle under a panel that pops off right under the parking brake
you will also need to take off the shifter trim, just pull up at the bottom part of it and it will pop out
the shoulder belts also need to be unbuckled, there is a small trim piece where they go into the console that can be easily popped out and then you can pass the buckle through
now, the console is ready to be pulled up and out
if you look at the bottom of the parking brake, you will see a small nut (10mm probably) on a bolt that can be adjusted
tighten it up and test out the brake; adjust it until it feels firm again
good luck and let me know if you have any problems
