what dos ve an vg mean ?????

what dos ve an vg mean ?????

this may sound dumb but i am nw to this site and i cant figure out what in the heck ve vg means i have a 89 se which one applies to me????

you have a vg (160 hp) all 89-94 maximas have vg except the 92-94 se which has ve (190hp)

It's the type of engine you have...

89-94 GXE & 89-91 SE have the VG30E @ 160 HP and the 92-94 SE have the VE30DE at 190 HP.

someone correct me if I am wrong.

VE / VG all 3rd gens have VG30E's except 92-94 Se's
The VE or VG is the series of engine you had it dosen't really mean anything
The 30 is the measurment of the Engine in Cubic Centimeters divided by 60, or the liters of the Engine, E stands for electronic fuel injection and if applicable the D stands for Dual Over Head Cams. The VE30DE is DOHC and VG30E is SOHC(Single Over Head Cam).

VE's are dangerous! See the red on the back of the 3rd gen with the white? You can tell the VE's from the VG's. The VE's are poisonous!
