Brake Bleeding - ABS

Brake Bleeding - ABS
OK, I have read the previous posts on bleeding brakes with ABS. My car manual says to disconnect the negative lead to the battery and to disconnect the ABS actuator.
Question: In all the posts I have read, people have said to disconnect the ABS fuse (I assume the one in the engine bay). Is this effectively doing the same thing as "disconnecting the ABS actuator"?
Any help appreciated,
Brent

Today I replaced one of my rear calipers. I looked for the ABS actuator (mentioned in Haynes) but could not find it. I bled that new installed caliper without disconnecting anything.
Could I have done some sort of damage by Not disconnecting those actuators and/or battery?

Re: Re: Brake Bleeding - ABS
Probably not. I didn't. I think it's a safety issue. If the abs somehow engages while bleeding, I would imagine it would shoot fluid all over the place.
