If your car does not currently have a keyless remote (keyfob), then I believe this will not work. I have a 98 SE with keyless remote. What the guy is selling is a replacement for the 4th Gen keyfob. I think he has made a mistake unless the option found on 4th Gens was also available in 1994. I also have a 3rd Gen (93 GXE), and to my knowledge, the 4th Gen keyfob cannot be programmed to open my 3rd Gen.

I vaguely remember seeing something in an Australian 3rd gen brochure where it had a keyless entry remote. I don't think it was ever released in America though...

yeah there was an option listed in 94 as a dealer installed keyfob, but no proof of it's actual existence exists. kinda like a VE w/o LSD

I've seen other ebay adversisements with the "original" fob that this one replaces. All the auctions I've seen have that "original" style fob as well. IMO, that looks like a fob that could be dealer supplied...so I wouldn't be suprised if that one was for our cars. Looking at other fobs, I'd say that's the only one available that could possibly be a factory design, if that makes sense. I don't know if this so-called replacement will work, but that original design looks like something that would go with a car from the 90's.

I don't think you could get this to work with your car though, if it didn't already have a key fob in the first place. You'd need an RF receiver module installed into the electronic door lock brain.

Some interesting links:

95-99 Maxima Keyless remote

95-99 keyless entry FOB

98-99 keyless entry

i did a search a while back about the keyless remote for our 3rd gens. i asked a Nissan Dealer and they told me that our 3rd gens never came equipped with a keyless remote. only the 4th gens have it but installed as an option, not all 4th gens have it since i have a 4th gen and it didn't come equipped with a keyless remote. just use an aftermarket system and be done with since the factory version does not exist for our cars and even if it did your car would have had one to begin with so that the one being advertised would work. and even if it was an option for our 3rd gens it will cost you a pretty penny to get one from factory. i went the aftermarket way and have had it since '01 with remote start and has been working fine since then.
