Another unidentified hose
Another unidentified hose
First off, let me say you all have been a great help with my Max. Since the Max is out of commission for a bit while I deal with the O2 sensor, and bad injector, I decided to do some basic maintenance stuff that it has needed for some time. The previous owner really didn't take very good care of it, and I have been slowly trying to make up for years of neglect and poor care.
During my free time the last couple of days, I've been replacing various vacuum hoses, most of which look like they are original equipment from '93. I came across a hose today that isn't hooked up on one end, and I haven't been able to figure out where it belongs. My car is a '93 GXE auto. The hose is connected to the top of the transmission, below, and just slightly behind the baffle in the air inlet tube, next to the MAF sensor and filter housing. The other end of the hose is attached to a piece of metal tubing (it looks like it might be copper instead of steel) shaped roughly like a "C", and that piece of tubing is hanging over a support bracket for some wiring near the top of the engine, behind the intake plenum on the drivers side of the car. The metal tube isn't actually connected to anything, just hanging over the wiring. I noticed this just as it was starting to rain out, so I didn't get any pictures. If no one knows by the description what it is, then I will post some pictures as soon as the rain stops.

Ok, that is what I thought when I first saw it, but I was a bit bothered by the way it was just hooked over a wiring harness, and thought that perhaps it was supposed to be attached somewhere just to keep it from abrading the harness, or getting it's self into any sort of trouble.
Should it really just be hanging there that way?
