I have 165,000 on my 90 GXE. Still runs great except for some unfortunate repair bills. Like new waterpump, new belts, new brake job, electrical problems in the transmission. Should I sell and save for a newer Maxima?

ya my waterpump went to last year. Took me 2 months to fix, laying under your car with snow around you is not fun. It's cool though, i got to drive around my mom's 95' 200sx. That thing ruled, not quite the max but was still quick and nice for a 4 banger.
Only thing wrong with my max is the o2 sensor and the valve guide is shot on cylinder #5 i think it is. Like when i turn my heater on, my car goes putt putt putt and sounds like crap, i think it's my o2 sensor for that too. other than that it purrs like a kitten, and it should have had the timing belt replace ooh about 80,000 miles ago.
hah
can't complain about these cars.

198,000 miles
I had 198,000 miles on my '87 GXE before I flipped it into the ditch and totalled it. (see my other posts for the whole story) It did not leak a drop of oil, got 32 mpg, and went 0-60 in about 8 seconds. At the time it was an 11 year old car...not bad at all. Different generation Max, but same concept. What I am saying is that these cars are great, very dependable, and looks better than anything else in it's price range. Especially if you have had the car for a while, you get to know it, at least I do. The only thing that could wear these cars out where I live is the massive amounts of wintertime salt put on the roads. It takes its toll after 7-8 years. I would say to keep it and be proud to own a car with that many miles. I have 112,000 miles on my '93 GXE, and I couldn't be happier with it. For how long they last, I don't think that the repairs are that expensive. There, that's my 2 cents worth.

165,000
miles here, only thing I notice is rough idling at stop lights, so while I sit there I put in in neutral so my butt don't go numb.
