Question About Mufflers!!!

Hey I'm looking for a new performance muffler for my '94 Maxima. Here is Vermont they are cutting down on "illegel street mods" which really sux, just gonna have to sneak by them all the time. But anyways...What is your opinion on a really good muffler but isn't REALLY loud like a ricey Civic. I dont want it to be really loud otherwise I might get pulled over. But I would like there to be a little bit of a low rumble. Also what inlet size do I need when I get a muffler? Is it 2.5" or 2". Thanx for your help!!!

Dont listen to anyone else on this one. Get a DYNOMAX RACE MAGNUM muffler for under $100 you will love the sound and also it has a lifetime warranty which you cant beat.

I agree with dmontz. Unless you rich, the greddy isnt really worth the cash .I bought my Dynomax Race Magnum for 70$ , put a tip on it for about 10$ and it looks and sounds great.

What are your opinions on all of those different "straight through" designs that you see a lot. The ones with Big Tip already on it. Thanx for everyone's reply!!!

Check out the November issue of Sport Compact Car. There's a pretty good article there about exhaust systems / mufflers. A lot of excellent basic info re: different muffler designs, what affects noise, what affects flow, etc.
