WTF!! How did you do that? You started a poll, I voted and then tried to reply, but it wouldn't let me?? Then the poll that you started turns into a thread with a different title??

Your poll says "How many years have you owned a 3rd gen since 1989?" What if you bought a new 91?

It doesn't even matter if your Grandma gave you the car

Heh, I screwed up on the first poll, so I deleted and reposted. Ask Green, I do it all the time

Then it's however many years you've had one since 1991. Late adopters are penalized of prior years.

My Father bought a brand new silver 89 SE 5 speed in late 88. I wanted the "cool keypad on the door handles" but since that option wasnt available with a 5 speed (my parents refused to buy/own an automatic car) he got the SE.
It wasnt until 91 when the car was handed down to me. It might sound silly now, but all my peers were sooo jealous/impressed with my car at the time (totally stock)

EDIT: I got rid of the 89 2 years ago, but I bought a 91 about 5 years ago, so 17 years of 3rd gen ownership for me, 19 years in the family.

Dad bought a 94 VG in 95 and owned it all the way up until 2007. January 2007 I bought a 1993 VE and still have it today.

Looks like, twelve years...

1st 90 se- it was my moms for a few years, then I had it for a few months and totaled it (it was my first car, and I still weep for this car back when I work on my current on, it was perfect!) It was in the family for 5+ years.

2nd 90 se- current DD, I've had it since just after I joined the org. Always been my car.

89 se- donated its 5 speed to the 2nd 90 se and I parted it out. It was a steaming pile to put it nicely.

I got my 92 GXE (aka the creamy one) from my dad a few years ago - he bought it brand new in 92.
My 93 GXE (aka the green one) I got last May.

I had a VE 5-speed from 95-97 (three years).

I have now owned the red one for over five years. However, since I found the red one for my brother at a dealership, test drove it told him to buy it (plus, I drove it quite a bit and helped work on it before I owned it) I count that two years for a total of 10 years.

Parents had a '91 from 91-00 which I was never old enough to drive, then I got mine (an identical one, save the color) from my grandpa and have had it 05-present. That's 14 years of Maximas by my count.

Original owner of my 94 GXE, with about 110K on it now. All 4 window regulators were replaced; hood support struts failed many years ago; first gear started to slip about 20K ago, but I can always put it in 2 and drive just fine; 6 new injectors put in just last month(3 originals were dead); still on original rotor, but probably need new one soon; changed timing belt at 60K, so probably due again for new belt. It needs new struts also.
It's my first new car, so I will try keep it as long as I can.
