SE owners, thoughts on window trim?

My window trim has been cracking off for a while, revealing a GXE-like chrome underneath. Anyone else dealing with this?

I'm wondering what to do... ignore it, try to paint it somehow, maybe replace it, or just get the rest of it off and have some chrome?

For now, ignoring has been the norm, but this stuff is starting to bug me.

paint or whatever is coming off my trim, showing a chrome part underneath. my dad thinks i should remove the paint to allow the chrome to show(-1 for the dad, but he helps me on crap i dunno how to do, so his score drops to about 1,439,483,743^1000000 or so)

For some reason this mostly occurs on Maximas with black paint even though that trim paint should be the same on all SEs I agree it's an eyesore, it's happened on both of the black ones i've had. I'd repaint.

Hey look, that turned out rather nice. Do they just pop out, or did you do them on the car?

No,they are quite difficult to remove,so i just masked off the whole area, sanded them down to remove the rough spots, then painted.

I thought about just scratching the already messed up paint off, but it looked crappy halfway through. I ended up getting a whole set of GXE trim that I will eventually put on.

I like the blacked out look myself. I have some places that need to be repainted, that I will get to once I get the mechanical issues worked out.
