Digital Dash Problems

I just bought a 92 max for my girlfriend 2 days ago and went tonight and sat in it for a little playing around with the digital dash. Seems I got some problems.

1st problem: Blower only works when the fan speed is at full blast (4). Doesn't blow at any other speeds.

2nd problem: Hot (actually warm) air only comes out when the blower is on 'Manual' and not when I hit the 'Auto' button. When I hit the 'Auto' button only cold air comes out.

3rd problem: Hot (actually warm) air only comes out of the drivers side vents then gets much colder on the passender side middle and then cold air on the passenger side by the window.

Not sure if the A/C is working because I seem to have these problems that are hindering the checking of the A/C.

Can you guys explain or know what's going on here??

1) Your blower motor resistor is bad, its like 20 at an auto store, take out ur glovebox and its right there, 2 screws and its out, i might have one off my parts car but i think i lost it..

2 and 3) Not too sure but maybe ur DCC unit is bad, just a guess, but if someone else can chime in and u need one, ive got one.

Well for 2 it sounds like you might have a sensor thats bad, and for 3 maybe ur air mix door motor or something in that area is bad, either way download the FSM on phatg20.org or net or sumthing, its free. Heres a couple pages on the self diagnosing of the DCC.

Digital dash (left) ACC (right)

1 - You need a new fan control amp (resistor is for the manual CC). Goes in the same spot and costs about the same as the resistor (~$80 new).

2-3 - Those are strange problems. Try unplugging your ambient sensor located by the horn, bolted to the core support. When connected it prevents the mix door from closing all the way resulting in cooler air. See if that solves the cool air problem. The system is actually pretty lame if you ask me aside from the digital display and i'd perfer manual if it weren't for the display. Personally I would make sure your cooling system is bled and t-stat is working correctly, then I woould check all doors are working properly. Cool air coming from one side and hot on the other is pretty strange. Maybe you have a leak somewhere in the ducts. The auto/manual problem is wierd as well and like the other guy said, main unit might be the culprit.

resistors are around 80 each? I just picked up one for an 00 camry from AZ for 19.99, is ours expensive or something?

well i just tinkered around a bit more and found out that hot air actually blows out of the defrost vents but still pretty cold from the face vents. Now what could be causing this?

is the lever to the left of the control head up (cold fresh air) or down (no fresh air)

I have the digital dash in a 90 Maxima. The speedometer is not reading right. Even when in park, the thing is reading 7 to 30 mph. Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Is there a speed sensor? The only one I can find is for an analog dash.
