Some WIP Pics

Just want to show some pics of what somthing that is "work in process".
In the process of changing the leaking valve cover gaskets, replacing all back three injectors with some new one that i got from Hectic, two of them are dieing both show over 17 ohms, with some new one that show 10.9 ohms, knock sensor and harness, the IAC unit, and Thermostat.
Did most of the removing, cleaning yesterday, and going to put everything back on Thursday.
As U can see in the Pics, the KS is more likely dead for a long time, but i never get any code from the ECU. I'm also showing the original injector and the newer one, which i had four in the car, three in the back and one in the front. Been wondering if i will find some lost HP back when i am all done.

Ah yes, did all these same things on 1992maximase30's max last week...kinda didnt get the lil rubber grommet under the fuel injector rail hex bolt and we had to redo the freakin thing hahahaha!

He had one rear injector showing 64 ohms while the others were in between the 10-14ohm mark. We simply placed that injector in the front and put a good one back there to make things easier when we get ahold of an injector.

We didnt touch the ks though

Love your car man, looks super sexy with those murano rims

Did you check where the spark plugs go, the holes, one of my plug was cover with oil. Also, get a whole gasket set and replace all the gasket alone the way, or any that is needed, at least you are ready. Why not the knock sensor, while you are in that deep? You are may be 10 mins away. You know it is more than likely bad.

i would hold onto the injector that reads 10.9 its still good anything between 10-14ohms are fine also when it comes to gaskets i like the rule of if it aint broke dont fix it ive had some leak even after i replaced them so if it aint leaking i wouldnt disturb things

A digital multimeter like this one works nicely.

Take off the injector wire harness, set it on a low Ohm setting if you have a multimeter, touch the two pins to the two contacts inside of the wire harness. The reading should be somewhere between 10-14 like Subs said. Mine all ran around 12.8 or so...

This little project is done, one day to disassembly and one day to put it back. I'm sure Matt or other Max expert can do a much faster job, but this sure is a lot or work, i would rather drop the tranny and do the clutch than do this again (while using less time, too).
Since some one was asking where the PCV valve is, i'm including a pic of it here.

Needless to say, the car feel GREAT again, it idle smooth and run so great, i'm happy.
Oh, one thing i learn from this, DO NOT power wash your engine bay, at least no more than once or twice.

Those are the old ones you're talking about with the bad specs right?? Should feel good to get a new KS and the three new rear injectors in there. Keep us updated. Wow, is that water between the cylinder heads?? I knew water pooling up was the cause of the KS's going out on the VE, I didn't realize it would be that much though.

i'm pretty sure that's coolant that flowed out of the LIM during removal... see the water port next to the cyl#5 intake port?

Yeah, those were the # from the bad injectors, those i got from you were almost brand new, show 10.8, 10.9 ohms. So, i'm always ready to do the front, too. Let me know when you are ready to me the rest.
I think most of the water is from the lower intake, but you were right, water is mostly the cause of dead KS we all have.

Yeah those suckers have only 10 minutes on them. Sorry man, I still have to hang on to the other 3. I don't even have a VE, but if I ever get one as a project car, i'm gonna kick myself for selling them all.

Oh, duh on the coolant.
