Suspension Suggestions?

Well, it's time.. my struts feel completely shot, hitting a bump hurts my back, theres just nothing there anymore.

I wanna replace the springs, and the struts.. I was thinking Koni struts, and ?? springs? But, that would be $1,000+? I saw Koni struts @ about $600 for front and rear. Plus the fact the rears, i probably wont do myself, dont want all that hassle.

Thats why im here, any suggestions on good suspension systems for our cars? Maybe a set that includes spring and struts? Can coilovers be used? Sorry if that questions dumb haha.

This will be the first of many things im going to be doing to my max, I wanna get it riding solid and like new. THEN exhaust and intake, THEN rims, then paint.
Hopefully by spring I can afford to do all this, gonna be expensive, but i'll have a nice dependable car then, that I love

If you think koni installation on the rears are going to be hard, then check out how the front have to be installed..

http://www.vfaq.com/mods/Konis.html

If you decide to go this route, i suggest using eibach springs for the best ride comfort/handling effect.

like greeny said, the fronts are tough. like you said, the backs are tough. are konis worth it? havent heard but one complaint, because the ride was harsher than he liked...
(sport suspension is NOT luxurious)

He probably had them set too stiff(koni=adjustable)

Also, the type/brand of aftermarket spring has more to do with your ride vs. the strut.

right now im thinking eibach springs, and tokico struts.. but i might still do Konis.
I just talked to my friend who works at a lexus dealership as a mechanic, he said he'll do it all for me, he can bring it in to work and throw it up on the lift and do it quick.. this makes me happy..
Hmm i need to check out the Konis more, cause i dont wanna be a major pain in the *** for my friend.. still gonna toss him like $200 for doing it

has anyone tried the Tokico springs?
i found this:
http://www.morepowerracing.com/produ...t=More+Details
its listed on shox.com, too, but with no eta and a slightly higher price.
despite the pic, the upper mounts, boots, etc. arent part of the package(called up mpr, "reuse stock *other* stuff", not word for word.)

Several websites list these for the 3rd gen, but with a generic picture of a coilover type setup. I wouldn't trust any of them unless they can show me the exact picture of what i will be receiving.

thats why i ask questions, if somebody had ordered this set, or ran with their springs, to give input. i'll call em again tomorrow, see if i can get some pics, or have them fix their page (i doubt it, but I'll try...)

i noticed these a while ago in one of the suspension group deal threads. iirc, he said there hasn't been an update from tokico since november.

IF they are ever released they ARE for the 3rd gen.
however they've been pending for a couple of years now, so don't hold your breath for them.

Do I have a fellow DSMer with me? Vfaq is for dsms though I know the koni installation may be similar for the front on our maximas.
