getting the stains off

i have one of the generic stick on sunroof visors and i want to take it off....but when i peel it up from the double sided tape, there is a stain, what is the best way to get the stain off?

i need the stains off the paint.. i dont need the paint off. the stains are left over double sided tape and some dirt that has gotten under the visor

Ok. Try a good paint cleaner like Maguiar's. If there's still rubber pieces of the tape on it or clumps of adhesive try a product called Goo Gone. Works great and won't harm the paint.
