Cheap Replacement Window Regulators

Found this site during a recent search. I know that Nissan (even Courtesy's) regulators are very pricey! Majority of internet sites (including Napa, etc) lists regulators for $50 up.

https://www.am-autoparts.com/

I just picked up a right rear regulator for $37 shipped. Once I get it, I'll post about quality and function. Hope this helps others as summer is here and fixing this stuff is back on everyone's lists.

Did you check to make sure that they included the motors? Otherwise you have to swap them over. Not a problem since the usual fail mode was broken plastic spools, not burnt motors.

i've run into each actually. I put in a regulator on my neighbor's car but the motor on my parts car's regulator was toast, so i put her good motor in my good cable/track part, and it worked fine. just remember not to try and pull the motor out of the spindle like I did... the regulators are modular, and i found that out about 10 minutes later.

These are without the motors. Like typical, my plastic "rail" peice busted. I've actually never had a "motor" go out. On this site, the regulators (ie. for the fronts) are still cheaper than anywhere else I could find.

Caped: I've swapped out the motors on ther rear before....not sure what you're talking about. They just pull right off after removing the screws, if I recall.

Not the greatest image, but this is what I recall. "Modular?"

In my car I eventually had to replace all four regulators due to the FPSS (Failed Plastic Spool Syndrome). All of the motors were fine. YMMV.

modular meaning they can come apart in pieces and swap out pieces from others . what i did is i tried to remove the motor from the spindle, undoing the 2 screws that ran parallel to the motor shaft, rather than the 3 around the cable spindle. so i ended up pulling the worm gear out of the ring gear, which i quickly realized was stupid. then i undid the 3, saw how freakin' easy it was, and fixed it.

long story short: i disassembled it the wrong way.

Update: Apologies, I actually forgot to update this thread with the install, product, and operation. Regulator was without the motor and looked better than factory. The inner portion of the regulator where the cable attaches to the window rod/lifter which rides the rail is actually made of metal. I think this is consistent with the brand new Nissan regulators too. The outer rail guides are still plastic, but seem as good as stock. Operates smoothly, no complaints...especially not for price!

$50 without motor?

You could get it much cheaper off of ebay. You can find em for under $20, shipped. I've bought three, without any problem with them. And even if they're cheap knockoffs, hey buy 2 and you'd still be ahead.

At $37 shipped, these don't look cheap. I've seen the "new" Nissan factory versions, and these look the same. We'll see how they hold up long term.

Guess you're right, they are on ebay for $20. Missed it because I try to avoid ebay stuff like this. Worth a try next time.

I got mine at the local Auto Zone. It wasn't cheap, around $50 or so, but they got it for me the next day. The screw holes for the motor didn't line up quite right, and I had to enlarge one of the holes a bit in order to get the screw in, but it wasn't terribly wrong, just off by maybe a sixteenth of an inch or so. I've had it for almost a year now, and haven't had any other problems with it.
