Trading my MAXIMA FOR A LEXUS

I need some expert advice/no ****y bias opinions. I have a 1994 maxima Brougham edition, automatc, fully loaded, mint ,only 119,000 ks. I have been offerd by someone to trade it for a 1995 lexus SC 300 fully loaded 158,000 ks.

Is this a good trade? I've bin told the sc 300 is an amazing car but the fuel economy worrys me..keep in mind it ONLY takes premium fuel.

any suggestions?

thanks

SC300= BORING

good reliable cars, but again..boring to drive..But since you have an automatic maxima there shouldn't be any adverse changes in the swap.

Have you given any thought to Why he would want a maxima over a lexus?

well it can be fun, given enough boost. anything is fun if it's dangerous.

I'm referring to the ability of the car to turn. being "fast" is a byproduct, "fun" imo is the cars ability to swoop through a set of twisties with the greatest of ease..

well if u doing a 2jz swap, yeah. if not, depends if u want a car with more mileage in exchange for what you have now, which has less mileage and if u want luxury over sportiness

yea, what he said..

id worry about trading a so-said mint Maxima with only 119k for something with 150+k

but its not my choice, id trade it only if i really liked the car, so go see the car, drive it, get a mechanic (you trust) to check it out. Then go from there..

don't do it. as much as I like lexi, the RWD ones are not ones I would get unless I have a boatload of money to spend on fixing the suspension (all unique and common to fail).
stick with the max especially up in the snowy north.

moar power = moar oversteer. just light up the tires every time you wish to turn the car

Burnouts=

everyone has their version of "fun"..mine is not raw horsepower, I like for a car to turn well, not just burn the tires off at every stoplight, which neither of the cars compared in this thread will do without much$$ spent..

I like burnouts.
if it has RWD, I'll do a burnout just for fun.

That is a very reliable and known power plant in the sc300. It is a 2jz just not the more known 2jz-gTe as in the TT Supra. Also some <very few> sc300's came in stick.
If your into V.I.P look, then do it. although you have to wonder if moving UP in mileage is worth the risk.

stick was from inception to 1997. and there was a front/rear refresh in 1997. which makes 1997 the only year i'd ever want. after that they added the 4.0 and killed the 5spd.

it doesn't run well enough to drive, but it runs well enough to burn out at every stop sign (or get stuck there having to restart the car).

Lexus' are nice reliable cars i speak from experience (my parents own 2) but they can get expensive if they need to be fixed. all in all i'd keep the max the lower miles make it a better car.
