Greetings to all,
Please, bear with me. New to the group and new to the world of nissan maximas.

Recently purchased a very nice 1993 gxe with auto trans (85000 mi) and am having a intermittent starting problem, although the motor always turns over.

I have a gut feeling the person that I bought the car from was aware of the problem but when I approached her about it, she claims it never had occurred to her. (Hmm)

Also, the cruise control does not work.

Although I will be taking the car to the garage and have it hooked to analyzer to help determine the starting problem. If any of you folks could offer any suggestions, I would truly appreciate it.

I know this may sound stupid, but mine did the same thing and all that mine needed was a new battery. It seemed that i had a few low cells and that there was enough to start the car sometimes (unless i left something on..) but it would run fine . Wasnt till i tested it that i knew something was up. Try that, its free and you never know. Good luck, Charles

 

Yep, battery my my issue there too, had to buy one a week after the purchase. On the cruise control,make sure it actually doesn't work...what I mean is that on mine, the light doesn't come on on the switch, but the cruise control does work...try tht, also check fuses/relays.
