you have a 19__ Maxima (SE or GXE?) with a _____ transmission?

how fresh are your plugs (all) and cap, rotor, and wires (vg)? are you throwing any codes? have you checked EVERY single electrical connector under the hood for green corrosion crap, and cleaned it? all good things to check.

I'd check grounds, you don't have a VE so only 1 coil.

also check battery terminal tightness. i had a loose positive cable cause my car to shut of uphill at night (like... everything died, no lights, no NOTHING) so i had to yank the handbrake, wait for the lane to clear, get out, tap the cable and pull into the parking lot near me. sometimes it would restart with the loose cable (before i figured out what was wrong), but once the whole car conked out, i figured out it was the battery cable being loose.

there's one on the distributor, 2 on the backside of the upper intake manifold, 1 on the tranny, 1 under the car on the catalytic converter brace, just to name a few.

Same here....and Im freaking baffled.

Mine quits while driving, then will not restart for a period of time. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for this at all. I come back the next day and restarts fine most of the time. I get NO FIRE out of the coil but I have 11 volts to the coil with ignition switch in the "on" position. I have put in 3 different distributors....(Crank sensor) 2 different ignition modules, 3 different coils, and tried 2 new coil wires. and no matter what I do, it's the same thing. No spark out of the coil

I'm sure it's something stupid and small.......I just cannot find it.

have you checked your ECU's codes? also check for corrosion in various connectors. and check your "engine cont" relay

I have checked for corrosion in all the connectors....(injectors, ignition plugs, etc.) I DID try and read the codes on my ECU but i'm not sure i am interpreting them properly. Could I get some good instruction on how to read those codes?

Im going to check the ENG CONT relay now....

Thanks

Well, I swapped relays (ENG CONT) and nothing. I am going to check codes tomorrow. I am at work right now and am driving my BMW. I will let you know which codes come up capedCadaver as soon as I get them.

ALso....With the key in th on position....I am getting a humming/buzzing sound from the top of the transmission just under the MAF sensor at the pan. When I turn the key off....The IACV is clicking 4-5 times. I got some wierd Sh#t going on here.

Thanks
