clear corners
keep in mind that in some, many, or all localities, they are illegal. there was a recall issued on them, which was really a smack in the face to the manufacturer of the clear corners. DOT law states that you have to have amber reflectors (not white) on the front side-facing corner of the car, red on the rear side corner and the rear fascia. of course, clear corners are clear by design, not by manufacturing defect... but that doesn't make them legal. just like all these blue ricer bulbs are "DOT approved"... federal DOT sure, but illegal in all 50 states via the state DOTs.

I think it's all a big money making scheme.... but what isn't these days. I think as long as you put an orange bulb in there somewhere they don't give you too much **** about it; I doubt most cops look twice or know what a stock 3rd gen's corner lights look like. I just recently converted my corners to where the the large 1175 is amber and stays lit, then when the blinker is applied the entire light blinks like a BMW. I think it's potentially safer "legally" and looks nice too.
They see me rollin'.... they hatin'

I don't think most cops care. I've had my clear corners on my car for a little over 3 years (got them shortly after I got my car...first "mod" done besides a new sound system) and the NoVA cops don't seem to care, or like Pearl93VE said they probably don't know the difference. Now things that will get you pulled over in a hurry (at least where I live) are illegal tint and ricer mufflers. Cops around here love to write fix-it tickets for those.
cops hardly notice clear corners...u cant even tell if its factory or not..in case, just keep ur factory corners and if u get pulled over, tell the cop that u got the car like that and if he tells u to put factory corners bak jus put ur old ones bak...
hmm, never thought of doing that, in the event i ever got pulled or anything. i still think orange chrome behind the plastic would look rather cool too.
cops don't have a book of every car to tell them whats aftermarket and what is factory. that would be too much for them to keep up with. just buy the corners and put amber bulbs in there and you'll be fine. my sister's '94 sentra came with clear corners from factory and the cops haven't and will no do jacksh!t. even new BMW's come with clears up front but with amber LED's.
rhode island state police ticketed me for my corners once because i painted the amber part body color. all depends on the cops mood. but before you buy clear corners you should give that a try, plus its inexpensive
but while some of those cars have the clear corners stock, most have an amber thing somewhere else maybe down on the bumper (as is the case with that sentra) but evidently the newer BMWs don't have any amber at all... which is kinda weird. i wonder if there's even a reflector or if it's just a lens...
well even if they don't care about color, i can understand why they'd ticket you for removing the reflector entirely.

I'm sure cops are smart enough to figure out that an OEM corner light should have the amber reflector. They know the law, it's not hard to tell a 91 civic hatchback with clear ricer tails and it's not hard to tell a Maxima or any other car with aftermarket clear corners. They just don't inforce it unless they're looking for an excuse to pull you over

I got mine off of ebay for around $30 but only because the corners were cracked and hanging when i got the car now they have water behind them so yeah its up to u to get them or not i also got pulled because i had hyper white bulbs in the corners she let me slide but the ticket was about to be $500 so yeah it has to have an orange tint to it...
what i dont get though is all of the 4th gens ive seen in the city have clearcorners so im thinking its OEM, how are they getting around it? clearcorners look so dam good on 3rd gens but the way i drive i need less reasons to be pulled over.
EDIT- or do you just need orange bulbs?
I got pulled because my corner lights were Hyper White almost a white but with a blue tint... I did have some royal blue bulbs in there and never got pulled for having them lol... so she pulled me and said ur car looks nice but you cant have that color corner... and on top of that she said the reason being was because they looked like cop lights... I was light lady they don't even blink lol but she let me go...
+++ IF YOU GET CLEAR CORNERS MAKE SURE U GET SOME ORANGE OR YELLOW COLORED BULBS INSIDE THEM... THEY DO REFLECT LIGHT IN THE DARK SO I DOUBT THAT WOULD BE A PROBLEM IF UR CAR IS PARKED...
