4th to 3rd gen bose conversion

ok, i may have the opportunity to get the full bose system from a 4th gen. double din CD tape, amps, all 4 speakers and tweaters. i know the tweaters would take a bit of modification, but other than that, will this stuff fit? i gotta talk to the guy but i just found out about this.

Don't know about the amps & speakers, but the head unit will fit. I put a '95 double din in mine - works great!

You just plugged in the 4th gen double DIN and it worked? did you have a stock BOSE single or double DIN? I'd like some details!

Don't waste your time, go with something better. The bose system itself is not that great. Your better off bypassing your bose system, getting a new head unit, and some new 6x9's and door speakers. Plus if you ever decide to add a sub, you can't do it efficiently with the bose. It puts out super low power, that is why maximas come with amps.

BOSE is a great option for those of us that don't need to shake people in their living rooms

The plugs are different, so I had to make up an adaptor from a couple of Scosche plugs. One I found at K-mart, but one I had to order from them direct (check out scosche.com). If you can live without your power antenna (mine's broke anyway), you'll only need one of the 3rd gen plugs, because they don't come with all the pins. They're made for adapting aftermarket units into non-Bose cars.

My car was originally a single-din Bose, but before I bought it the dealer had replaced the headunit with a double-din cassette (from early Infiniti). The cassette crapped out - that's why I replaced it.
