Suspension tech Anti sway bars
Suspension tech Anti sway bars
I am planning to get a set of the Suspension Techs for my 93 max se. Has anyone had any experience with them? whether good or bad? Are they any other companies that sell the sway bars for our cars?
They work great with the right wheel and tire combo. The sidewalls of the tires I have right now are mushy as hell, so you'd never know they are there. That will get fixed next Spring. They have no affect on ride quality. They only show up in cornering to reduce body roll.
For a 3rd gen you'll want to get some heavy duty washers welded onto the L-brackets on the rear of the chassis where the rear links connect. The stiffness of the bar causes the links to pull through (breaking) the holes and to drag along. I broke both of mine on two seperate occasions. Best thing is to get them beefed up right away so you don't have a failure later.
Otherwise, they are highly recommended!

Susp. Tech bars are 1 1/4" front and 3/4" rear. Addco makes a rear only bar 7/8" thick.
Also, shouldn't the bars make the ride harsher over potholes and ruts? The bars function to tie the two wheels of the car relative to each other, so if one moves up/down the other will also try to do the same. This reduces body roll but shouldn't it also make ride worse whenever one wheel hits something the other wheel doesn't?
Good advice on the brackets btw.

Yes, the ride over potholes and uneven bumps is a little more harsh, but nothing I would complain about. It's well worth the tradeoff in ride quality vs. handling.
And yes, definitely reinforce the brackets in the back. I've had mine rip apart 5 different times in 4 places. the L brackets are one place, and the other end of the link where it's welded to the plate for the bushing is the other. that one shouldn't happen if you get everything lined up straight.
for a few pics of the bars and install, check my webpage..

Are you trying to pick a back tire off the ground every time you go around a corner? I only broke mine once on each side. Dayum, I'm going to have to ride with you some time.
can you mix match sway bars
Whats up guys, i got a 94 max and i am looking to put sway bars on it, do you recoment the suspension tech for the front and addco for the rear? can you mix and match? or am i better of jsut getting two suspension techs? those are my questions, but if you know what to get for the best bang for my buck i'm all ears. thanks peace
3 wheel motion
that not that hard to get a tire off the ground just turn late ing the corner i did it racing a civic that what he said at least and the only suspension upgrades i have is sprint springs and 18's. i was also thinking aboutgetting better sway bars so i can drift and fish tail and so i have better handling, if only i had money
