my dad just sold his 3rd gen

my dad just sold his 3rd gen... it was burgundy but the clearcoat was totally peeling off and the front struts were blown... but other than that his 89 auto max was still a really good car. had about 140k miles on it. i own a 4th gen and currently have 189k miles... anyways he sold his car for 500 bucks... do you guys think that was too low? wats your opinion? would any of you paid more for one? just curious as to my fellow orgers' opinions on the matter... cuz i htink he should have sold it for more... its worth more than 500... iono just imo.

If it was worth more, then market forces would've led you to buy it from him for $500 and find someone else to pay you more. Given that you didnt do this, it was worth $500.

Exactly.

It would be cool if you had pictures though.

I spent $2700 to purchase my 3rd gen last year

I'm an enthusiast though and it is in really, really good shape. I am 3rd owner with the 2nd owner only having the car for 9 months. I know the original owner. Her husband was a judge and purchased the car for her new in 94'. She is in her 50's and babied the car its whole life. Garage kept, etc.. It also came with every available option, though it is a GXE. VG was a requirement when I was shopping because I knew I could work on it.

yep. You couldn't PAY ME to take Matt's probe... but one of the guys on the Probe forum wants to get it for $100 as a parts car. but then again he's got 3 Probes already and keeps breaking the engines... (16psi will do that haha)... so to him, it's worth money.
