Clarion no longer repairs this stereo. We suggest up grading to a newer Bose stereo, '97-99. You will require an adaptor wire harness for the direct plug in.

some cutting will be required for the 6.5s in the front.. and also depending on the depth of the speakers your going to be mounting

ive got 6.5 panasonics they got a weird mount on them but they fit fine (no cutting) i actually think theres a lil extra room for bigger ones

theres alot of sites with different options but personally i would go custom ( also wouldn't start body kits unless im buying the full kit all at once ) custom jobs cost more but their worth it make the car look like something nobody has ever seen before not like a 3rd gen with a stillen lip

(i hate body kits that were made for twin mufflers when the car only has one)

Be glad you had the Bose system as it means you can put 6x9s in the rear. Up front, I've seen custom component systems (as in separately purchased woofers and tweeters) with 8" woofers in the door so putting 6.5s in will be no problem. Unless you decide to stay with 4" speakers you are going to have to do some cutting of the original bracket or make your own out of plyboard or something similar.

Seriously, it's a lot easier to rid yourself of the Bose now and go completely aftermarket. I had dragged my feet originally on replacing the stock amp for my car but after I did it sounded so much better. These electronics are at the newest 14 years old so it's only a matter of time before they bite the dust.
