the electrics!

hi i've got a quick question. My maxima's electrics are crazy. when ever it gets cold it refuses to open all the doors with the key. (turn the key twice, opens all the doors). It doesnt mind just opening one door but it won't do all of them. Another thing is that sometimes, again only in the winter, if i shut the door all the doors will lock. And then there's the issue with locking it via the keypad. most of the time it lets me lock by pushing the 9|0 button but sometimes it just wont work. In that case i cant even press down the locks manually, they'll pop backup so i have to push the lock button on the drivers console.

any ideas?

thanks

89-91 it is your "master window switch" (lock buttons, etc)
92-92 it is your "door lock timer" (hidden box thing)

- under dash
- resolder all components (solder jobs known to be THE problem)

It's easy to access, just remove the under dash screws, pull the panel off. The door lock timer is to the right of the steering wheel..

Simular Problem

I have a '93 SE(no driverside keypad), My problem is the factory alarm can't be disabled at times. After locking doors with key or switch I can't disable alarm. Of course this disables ignition switch and along with the embarrassment I've had to walk home and had to tow the car to a dealership, who couldn't find or fix the problem. Could this be attributed to the lock delay switch?

Hey, that was my first choice (to disable fact alarm), but, where is it and how do I disable and/or bypass. I've had it at the Nissan dealership twice, paid a lot of money and gave up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys, I've got a question too...

I'm having the same problem with the door lock timer in my car (door locks not working consistently), but when i opened the timer box, i visually inspected the circuit board and didnt see any loose or broken connections. After reinstalling the timer it now only works consistently when pushing the connector to the timer. I figure I need to reconnect the wires to the connector but I have no idea to do that. Can anyone tell me how to properly reconnect it?

Just replace your door lock timer, try a local j-yard for a replacement.

Properly or for lifetime? Lifetime: Cut off the connector, solder the wires directly on the pins.
