Well i got me some headlights for the third and i started to retro them. Here is one done.

what type of projectors are they?

and how much hacking did you have to do on the backside compared to my j30 setup?

 

They are fx projectors and i didnt have to hack much.

 

plus that should bolt in w/o modifications.... meanwhile i have to hack the hell out of my housings AND cut the radiator support to get mine in.

so the FX ones have the flippy thing, right?

 

Yes sir. I still have high beams.

 

but will you have flash ability when the headlights are turned off? gonna use relays or something? I plan to use a projector similar to that... but in the E36 housing, that way i can flash the halogen when the HIDs aren't turned on, but once i turn the HIDs on i will just flip the shield. a pair of SPDT relays will do the trick nicely. of course my overall plans for lighting will be a BIT more manic than just that........ you will see.

 

I dont flash so i didnt really worry about that. I am using relays.

Well I'm not selling those. I made them for my personal third gen. I do however retro fit headlights. Shoot me a pm and i can give you a break down on parts and what not.

 

Car needs to be cleaned i know. BUt here are some mounted pics.

 

They look really good now that they're mounted, but you gotta change those corner signals man.

 

I know right lol. I have to figure out what to get. I may get all clears and paint them black.

yea but knowing what our stock headlights are like..... can you blam 'em/us? besides it's another way to make your max look unique... depending how you do the retro.

A little update.

 

Now that looks sharp. Good choice of blacked out clear corners.

 

Only took me a second to black them out so why not.

Faygo and 1800 wooo lol. Well i baked the corners open and painted the inside. Takes all of 15 mins start to finish.
