I think he's talking about the metal, funnel shaped peice that's inside the upper part of the airbox. It's located just before the mafs.

Why do you need pics of this Jeff?

I want to know what it looks like. If it's longer than what's on my G airbox, it could be a cheap way to getting a longer one.

on the vg, its about 1/2 inch deep or so, and yeah, it looks to be 3" diameter.
sorry, no pics. its cold outside, my fingers were getting stiff, and my cam wouldn't focus/flash right.

i just measured my old one. it is 1.25" deep.. the straight portion alone is 13/16" deep.

the opening is 2.75" @ the MAF, and the flare is 3.5" across

So Nissan better engineered the VE/VG's than the VQ?

I might have one in the garage but I'm not sure. I can as my mom to take a look tomorrow. I think I might have thrown away all my old air box stuff though :-/

From which model maxima is this from? VE?

I got one from a GXE and it's only about 3/4" deep. If your's is actually 1.25" deep (tip of horn to base), then I'm still interested.

If it's from a VE (specify 5sp or auto), looks like even diff maximas got diff sizes.

Trying to get a larger velocity stack for my G. I thought the maxima ones would work but the bolt pattern is completely diff. Before I found that out, I was thinking of mounting your maf adaptor backwards. ie.. inside the airbox. But one problem is your adaptor doesn't have the bell opening like a velocity stack has.
