I gonna check out Dirksmooth's car. CZAR installed his. If it's clean enough, I might consider it. Only for the optional HID install possibilty later though. How hard to you think that would be? Piaa projectors or some factory BMW hids?

correct me if im wrong, but "just like the rest of the sheep" would imply that he's following the majority of the people. i would be willing to bet that 99% of the 3rd gens out there still have their stock headlights.

Yes Walke you are wrong. Everyday I hear about someone and their mom converting their headlights. It has to start with one sheep doesn't it. Anyways, BMW headlights look nasty, in my opinion. If you want a BMW look, buy one. Leave the classic look of the Max.

i agree with you... maximas should have maxima headlights and bmw's should have bmw headlights. i just find it ironic that this individual is now categorized with the majority of maxima owners because he wants to swap in bimmer lights.

*cough cough*.. hehe..NO i am my own sheep!!! no one can follow me.. actually thats the only reason i did the conversion myself. I get xenon and highbeam.

btw.. theres no way your gonna fit e46 headlights in our cars without it looks REALLY bad.. my mom has an e46, trust me i looked at em, theres no way it'll fit.. stick to e36..

I would venture to get these just based on the fact that they are EURO elipsoid lighting based on what is know as overdriving. This means that the speed traveled versus the distance that you can see. Generally braking takes more distance than your lights can see. Thus when you are driving 80+mph you would not have the time needed and distance needed to stop based on the fact that your stopping distance is longer than your actual visual distance that your lights allow you to see. Of course this only applys to night driving. Elipsoid lights are based on AUTO BAHN speeds.

European Headlights
Improve your headlight range, with European headlights. At autobahn speed the standard headlights will not project a beam far enough to offer a safe range of stopping distance. Factory components assure you the highest quality. Requires some rewiring. For off road use only. Minor wiring necessary.

Don't you mean an IS300, last time I checked stock Hondas don't come with altezzas . I would like to know what is ricey about this mod? It is totally custom. Our 9004 lighting system is worthless anyway why not do the mod. In my opinion, fitted properly, the BMW headlights look tight on 3rd gens but I guess to each his own right.

hey no leaf

Thanks for letting me know I have a 3rd gen. If your statement about rice was directed towards me, I seriously think you should rephrase it.
1)look at my gxe its far from ricey.
2)No one said anything about altezzas
3)If you have an opinion share it but dont diss what other people like
4)

Is it wrong to mod out the max that I own and I bought the way I want.

I bet both of my maxes look better than your max. but thats just my opinion you probably like your max more than mine. but do I put down your car because I dont like it. do I tell you that If you wanted a POS car you shoulda bought a honda no. hmmm sounds kinda familiar?

matter of a fact I just gonna ignore your ignorant comments these other people have said enough

ouch.. hehe that was rough, but i agree with you. Dont tell others what to do with theyre cars, why does it matter? The reason i dont mind the bmw lights so much is they look somewhat generic and dont look like "i stuck a bmw part on my car!" more like heres soem cool headlights that work better. PLus mine no one really konws at all cause they look completly different hehe..

the ellipsiods are definitly the better BMW lights package, but theres no way i was willing to spend 300 dollars on headlights. If you look at the british guy stu's max, he has the Euro ellipsiods.. BTW if you want angle eye ellipsiods cheaper then that check this.. cept i think its germany only so you have to find a way to get em over here haha..

http://www.in-pro.de/cgi-bin/locked/...l-Scheinwerfer

Im thinkin bout those. But the way my setup is i basically made custom euro ellipsiods, so the only thing im missing is the glass cover instead of the US plastic cover.. oh well.

to that noleaf guy: Now my 2cents, im not gonna dis other peoples custom work, i think its interesting to see what people can come up with different for they cars. If i dont like it i dont do it to my car, altezza's have a cool look and if they werent so played out and if they made em for our cars id probably get em, but i dont think i would anymore. If you like your max stock then all the power to you, but you probably wont like this place much. Im not gonan dis others for what effort they put into theyre car, its a matter of being different and standing out.. what do you care? do what you want to your car, and for the rest.. RICE ON BOYS! or in my case... matza on!! hahaha

I remember he had the second car I saw with the bmw lights, at first I was like damn those things dont look right, then as I looked again they started to grow on me. Its a custom mod.Now brandon has hids in them. sure the way he did it was "ghetto" in some peoples opinions, but who else has a 3rd gen with bmw headlights and real HIDs? go to a show and tell them that you have clear corners and indiglows, and thell say thats nice. I dont want what everyone has. go to my site and see what I do. Every interior I do is different. you know why? because they are diferent peoples cars and different people have different tatses.

And if you dont like them dont worry if you ever see me driving you'll only see the back of my car anyways

ok, i guess i came off wrong in that last post. first of all, the whole altezza thing i just threw in there. personally i like them, but don't think they would look good on our cars cause of the center piece unless you shaved your trunk or did some other modification. although i don't think any of us actually know what it looks like with our center piece. the only reason i posted that was cause someone else said something about the if you want bmw lights, get a bmw, it just made sense to me. personally i think the conversion looks very nice when done correctly. the post wasn't to mock anyone, and anyone with a max has one of the best looking cars around, which is why i have one, and i wasn't trying to insult anyone on the post's max. come to think of it, i don't remember saying anything about anyone. oh yeah and i don't think that link worked, it was supposed to be of craig's site of the max ad's page and it went to one of the ads. it didn't work for me anyway. sorry for causing all this tension, there wasn't supposed to be any insults coming from my post.

to each his own... i think the bmw headlights add something to the front and if they made altezzas in carbon fibre for our cars i would THINK about getting them. but i like the back end the way it is.

i've always thought about getting altezza's that could be easily moddde to fit our cars or getting altezza's made for the 3rd gen if they ever made them and getting the center piece custom to look sorta altezza style. i know they make altezza style lights for some cars that do have a 3rd piece for the center just to make it look good. maybe if they ever made em for 3rd gens they would make something like that to replace the stock 3rd piece. if not i was just thinking about going completly custom with the rear lights and center piece, but i think our rear end looks quite good and unique the way nissan did it.

no clue. but if they did, it would interesting to see if those bmw non-projector lights would work on the max. that way you would improve visibility but keep a stock appearance!

oh yeah, hey guys, if I could afford to get the car that those lights were meant for, the I wouldn't be on this board cause I would have gotten the car!

Dude, Just cause I wanted something different, and more functional then most "rice" applications, I get dogged on? I think they look good and they throw more light then the stockers. So, you have looks and functionality. You can't go wrong.

so suck my left nut.

Anything is better than stock headlamp lighting! I'll be getting the Elipsoids after the first of the year. Stay tuned.
