shock sensor placement?

man....all of a sudden my shock sensor isn't picking up any vibrations!

i've got it strapped horizontally across the solid part of the steering column. is there another reccomended mounting place that has worked for you guys?

Heh, funny - this is one of the questions I was going to ask you but forgot! I read the manual of an alarm w/ a shock sensor once, and I believe it did mention the steering column, but also the firewall and anywhere on the body frame as well. Basically it said "anywhere solid where vibrations of the car will be felt". I'd go for the firewall in my totally inexperienced opinion

Others?

steering column should be fine
I've heard of putting it there for many people
just make sure it's on tight

try adjusting the sensitivity if you can

let see... i've put the shock sensor on the steering column,
zip tied to some wires, screwed down to the firewall, taped
to the back of the underdash piece, tied to a pedal..
in my experience its probably easiest to put it against
the steering column in plain view.. that way if you need
to adjust it later on, you dont need to take anything apart.

like craig sez, adjust the sensitivity... if that dont work,
you might have a bad shock sensor
