Alternator question for 92 Maxima SE Auto

Hello

My 92 Auto SE has gone through 2 alternators in 3 years. Im about to put a 3rd one in now Is there a reason why they go quick? Is it bad quality alyternators? Is it because of the location (under car near driver passanger wheel well, maybe water or snow kicked up into it? I have a new batterey and the battery light & brake light has not come up yet. Is this normal?

Prior times when the alternator went I did get the light combo on the dash but not this time. I purchased a new battery, connection is tight and clean but still got low reading on meter with all accessories on.I dont have an audio system. Im just looking to see if others have experienced this with there cars or if it may me something Im missing

Thanks

Where are you buying your replacement alty's?

Also, is your passenger side splash guard still in place?

Try an Autozone alternator and get a splash guard.

Actually imho, the "world parts" alty's from advanced auto are a step below autozone's alty's

there are very few decent rebuilts anywhere anymore. they have become too much of a commodity item so cheapest vendor wins.

ive been having problems with ACdelco remans lately. mostly on my rustang but i went threw 2 altys in under 6months before i when and go an after market higher amp alty from latemodelresto. but i have to agree that reman is going to the cheapest vendor possible to pass the saving on to them selves not us, lol

i have had positive results with some cardone products.

I took mine into a shop that strictly rebuilds alternators and starters. Been working great for 4 years now, and I put alot of drain on the battery with my stereo system.

if the delco starts with 335 or 336, consider it another crappy rebuild. if it starts 323 or 321 then it is a left over from when they did them in house.

Hitachi reman from Napa. Looks exactly like the oem (it should as hitachi is the oem). Expensive as hell but worth it. It's what I bought when I needed one.

it's a reman, they just reuse the OE case (like everybody else who remans). We just put a reman by Denso into an altima. the case was marked nissan, but it wasn't an alternator from nissan. Although it was one of the nicest looking remans I have seen in a long time.
