The Maxima has a new playmate

Just got the MB yesterday, 2003 E55 AMG, and the Max is sticking around as well.

This car has 116K miles on it, which I know is quite a bit, but it sure does not look, feel, or sound like it's seen that much pavement.

Sweet!!!

You really smoked me. The Max is my nice fun car.

The others are a 04 Odyssey (Kid hauiler) and a 95 Grand Cherokee (Trash Hauler and winter rat).

I know. It sucks to be me.

Damage was $18K after taxes & fees.

Haha, well when I have kids I probably wont have this car, or anything with a leather interior for that matter.

I actually had been looking to Infiniti for my next car, the 03-05 M45 specifically, but this was just a good opportunity.

Yes. I just figure with living in an apartment (read: not having a garage) and having all sorts of other bills it would be smart to turn the Maxima into a down payment on the 'vette. And I will be spending lots of time out of town during the next year. We'll see what happens tho...

life goes like that.
personally if I knew I would be out of town alot for a year, the last thing I would do is buy another car. Keep the max (or sell it now), and don't buy the next car until you are settling in. Car prices typically drop every year so have patience and you'll save money.

I havent really opened the taps too much, except once when I test drove, but yeah its a huge difference. I personally have never driven anything this fast so I'm still trying to get used to it. The sound-proofing is much better than on my VE, so on the highway I have climbed to unintended speeds real quick, without noticing at first. Given the miles, I am waiting until I do a tune up next weekend before stressing it much.

Some local E55 owners saw it and said it might have aftermarket intercooling components, so its possible that its a bit beyond its specs.

The other nice this is the brakes, it stops quite well. 6 pistons front and 4 rear. I cant remember what the disc diameters are, but the fronts are huge.

Edit: my mistake, 8 pistons front

yup a friend works at MB service and it's pretty steep for brakes on the AMG cars.

Very nice car, definitely baller material. I am extremely jealous.

I was hoping to buy a new Challenger R/T as my next car, but 1) we bought a house that was much more than I planned. 2) my wife got her hours cut back and 3) we were going to get an Element for my wife (with a lower payment) but the KBB on our QX4 went to hell when gas went skyrocketing up last year.

Good price for an AMG. They 're built for Autobahn speeds so she has a long life left in her. Definately a wolf in sheeps clothing. Good for you!

dude, you should just sell it and go for an even better car! (It's still sweet btw.) 10k profit just from taking it to the dealer and selling it. That's pretty awesome.
