In terms of modding for a cheap price, is a 5spd VE better than a 5spd VG? I know the VE has 30 more hp than the VG, but the VG can handle 300zx parts. If money didn't matter, which engine has the most potential?

 

VE dohc heads, 4 valves per cylinder, direct coil on plug ignition, variable intake cam timing, variable intake volume(although the VG has this also)

The ve has superior heads for better breathing ability and still has the tough iron block bottom end for strength.
