I've done it!! :)

Finally.. after about 3 months I have finally completed the on board computer in my maxima.... It's wonderful.. I'm running a Pretium 4 1.3Ghz processor with 512MB Ram and a 40GB hard drive with about 1000 MP3's.. I have also installed a CD-R (So I can burn a CD while I drive) and a DVD-ROM... The LCD display that I got (By chance), can also handle my Playstation 2... haha.. I have managed to build my first multimedia vehicle...

Picts to come soon...

The way that I have built the system is as follows...

From the car battery there is a capacitor that stores power (this was not entirely necessary but it adds less stress to my car battery).. the capacitor supplies consent power to a voltage inverter (12V converted to 115V). between the voltage inverter and the capacitor there is a switch. the inverter and the computer are always on. the switch between the capacitor and the inverter is the main on/off. The inverter runs at about 0.1 amp, so I can have the car shut off, but the computer left on for about 7 hours before it will kill my car battery. Either way when the car battery drops to 10.0 volts, the voltage inverter automatically shuts down.
