Theres something wrong with my 93 maxima. HELP!

so i just came from my friends house, stayed there for 2 hours, on the way there the drive was fine. When i got in my car to leave i noticed there was noise coming from the right side of my car and also felt really weird when i would turn the wheel. the sound sounds like something rubbing against the belts but for sure its coming from that area. Has anyone had any problems with this before or can tell me what you think it is?

This could be alot of things. You need to tell us what the problem is, not just the sound its making, and have a proper check around there to see if anything is out of place, otherwise, there's just too many places to start guessing what it may be.

check your power steering fluid and your belts. does the noise worsen when in park and you turn the wheel?

Along those lines you can look for oil or fluid around the power steering hose (if it's leaking/spraying you'll see it all over the bottom side of the hood).

sorry for the late response, i got banned because thelaw is a jackass. but anyways it was the power steering cord that pumps the power steering oil. got it changed and now everything feels fine, but the sound is still there.

ok, what oil are you using? is it the regular power steering clear fluid or the red ATF fluid? you are supposed to use the red ATF fluid. also did you bleed it? if you didn't then the noise will continue. to bleed just raise the front of the car with both front tires up on the air off the ground, start the car and let it idle and just turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right until there are no bubbles in the power steering reservoir. make sure that the fluid is also topped off. if it isn't just start the car and then shut it off and open the power steering reservoir and check fluid level and add oil if need be. also check your belts make sure they are not soaked in oil this will also cause the belts to slip on the pulleys and eventually burn out and break. i suggest to replace all 3 accessory belts if they got soaked in oil. don't tighten them too much and don't leave them too loose either, this will also cause the noise at startup or while idling or even when you accelerate. one last thing if you do all this and its still there then i guess the pump took a **** while running it with no oil. so now you have to change the pump if all else fails. good luck and report back to us.

when i took my car to the shop they removed the old cord, replaced it with a new one. as for draining, im not quite sure, but they did refill it with a 76 brand power steering oil. it wasnt clear for sure. hmm

yeah, take it back to them and have them fix it. remember nissan takes the auto tranny fluid in our power steering systems other than that and it might damage your whole power steering system (pump, steering and seals).

You got banned because you were acting like a d*ck, flaming people and trying to start trouble. Dont go trying to blame someone else when its your own fault.
