Something I Was Wondering About?

I have a 94 Maxima GXE and was wondering what do they do with the new 1994 cars from the factory that didnt sell and that never have been drove by anyone? How much you think the Nissan Stealership would charge to get one?

they get sold.
new cars don't just sit around the lots.
if they are a previous year model, they just keep dropping the price quickly until they are all sold.

they either are sold as last year's model, or are sold to auctions

who would purposely buy a VG auto anyhow, with the rate the trannys fail at? though i suppose if you bought a brand new one you could take better care of it. but if you had the choice to buy exactly what you wanted, if you REALLY wanted a VG auto you'd be better off with a 89-91 SE auto than a GXE (unless you just can't live without keypads)

They take them all back and store them in a secret warehouse with high security doors to be resold when they become collectors cars.

Well .... this question to the most knowledgable about Nissan Maxima generations .. out of all the generations of Maximas which would be the best to have based on few major repairs needed during the warranty period or right after the warranty period without modifications.

00-01 maxima is probably your best bet if you want a low-maintainence maxima
  • 1st gens are massively old and almost impossible to find
  • 2nd gens are like 3rd gens, except smaller, ironically heavier, and older
  • 3rd gens are obviously showing their age. half my 'mods' are replacing crap that broke anyhow.
  • 4th gens have their fair share of swear-word-worthy problems at this point tho the VQ30DE is a very reliable motor
  • 5th gens are starting to get old now too... several people having minor rust and general maintainence issues but nothing out of the ordinary that i'm aware of for a 8-9 year old car. find one that was taken care of and you'll be ok.
  • 5.5th gens had oil burning issues but if you are handy with a wrench you can take care of it and you might like the extra power and option of HLSD 6spd manual.
  • 6th gens are straight from SNL's skit libary (i'm on a boat!) but are still under warranty.
  • 7th gens are fresh and clean. and still under warranty.
