Gas milage problems.

i wouldnt be complaining if i were you. my tank is on empty and guess what the gauge reads? 154! that sucks. but maybe you have a bad 02 sensor or something. i think maximas are supposed to get around 350 per tank. so i should be gettin double what i'm getting now. i'm only getting like 9 miles per gallon.

dude, i wish i was getting a LITTLE under 300....
I drive like 70 or so % highway, usually around 40 miles a day, and on a full tank, I have to fill up every 4 days... thats 40 X 4 = 160 miles.... ??????????????????????????
I have 93.5k miles on my max, It could be a few things actually. I believe when the O2 sensor is bad, you get REALLY bad gas milage, like 10 per gallon or so. But bad gas milage can also result from Spark plugs, Fuel filter, air filter, tire pressure? I'm taking it little by little since i have no $ and time to do everything...

Did you ever find out why you're only getting about 9 MPG?

How much gas do you actually use for 300 mile. My 93 GXE will read E and only 14.5 gal will fill the tank (i.e., 4 more left in the tank). If so, that's 21.5 mpg. I get about 23 to 24 mpg highway at 80 to 85 mph (gentle rolling hills, gentle driving going the SAME speed as almost everybody else on I-70. 20 mpg in city/country. With a 93 it's about time for an O2 sensor change especially if you have hard starts and cold running problems. Check tire pressure (30-32 psi on mine).
