1. what do you mean there's no key lock to open it?

2. can you hear the solenoid engage when tou push the button, and it just doesn't open?
If so, there's a small lever just below the latch on the bottom of the trunk.. get into your trunk (go through the backseat and take a flashlight if you have to) and flip the lever. I forget whether it's up or down to engage it, but just flip it the other direction.
you should then be able to open the trunk using the button in the door.

Yea there is really no lock, it was like that when i bought the car, i was thinking of getting one but i might be selling it so i dont want to spend money on it. The solenoid does make a noise when i puch the button but nothin happens. I have gone through the trunk to open it. When i had it open, i used a screw driver to lock the mechanism as if it were closed and hit the button but it still would not unlock. So i dont know if i got to replace it or what.

there's nothing wrong.. just flip that lever I told you about earlier.. what that is is basically a "valet switch" to prevent people from opening your trunk without a key..

just flip the lever below the trunk latch and you'll be back up and running.

Mine too...

My key doesn't work for the trunk and I've had one made at Nissan. On occasion the trunk won't open though I can hear the solenoid clicking. I have to go around and push down on the trunk (sometimes two or three times) before it engages and opens...

Yea it works now. Any tips on putting a new antenna in? I got the old one out, then put it back together. Dont you feed the cable down as you turn off the radio and push the rod part in to?

I just pulled the whole antenna out of the car and took it to the workbench, then dismantled it and went from there. if you take it out and pull the motor off the assembly, you can pull the old one out and push the new one down in there with no probs...

you'll probably also have to take the covers off and remove the old plastic "gear line" that's broken off inside the assembly. Mine was actually in 3 pieces when I finally pulled it apart.
