stock autos: anyone raced vs. Grand Prix?
I am talking about 3rd gen stock auto vs. '94-'96 Pontiac Grand Prix ('95-'99 Lumina) auto. The HP is equal-160hp on 3rd gen and 160 hp on 3.1L GM also has 160 hp.

I raced a kid in his Grandma's 96 Gran Prix. We stayed pretty close together, till about 70-80, when I pulled ahead and lost him. Not sure what shape his car was in, but I know mine isn't in top condition by any means. By the way, my car is a 90 GXE. So I beat a five year old car with an eleven year old car. Not bad...Chalk another one up for the Maxima.

Watch out though guys... Don't forget that some of the Grand Prix's are the GTP version... SUPERCHARGED
The supercharged version will flat out haul.
On a side note: If you think 3rd gen trannys go out too quickly, you should see how long the Grand Prix trannys are lasting. (A good number are breaking before 50k miles...)

I have a '91 GXE bone stock (FSTB is my only mod). I raced about a '96 grand prix. I am not sure what version he had but my fuel injectors are bad, I need a few other parts plus my timing belt was really worn out (I just got it replaced). He took off before me and nearly 1 car length ahead (calm down buddy and lets get neck 2 neck first!). He did beat me but he only pulled about 2-3 car lengths.

my prev. car was a 93 Grand Prix SE 4-dr 3.1L v6. It made 140hp 188 torque, and I remember how 2nd gen Max "handed to me" one day and I got all upset. From 94 model year, GM put on more powerful V6 (165hp) that was used in the same body style 'til '96 model year. With new body design, the same v6 is putting out 175hp....I am really surprised that even 160-hp 3rd gen can haul ***. Good job everybody.
