3rd Gen...kick panels

I was wondering if anyone has actually built or had built a set of kick panels for their third gen and what the biggest mid-range they put in there. I was thinking that 4" would be best as to not protrude avoiding the possibilty of getting crushed or stepped on by either myself or the idiots that ride shotgun....

I put 6 1/2's in a set that i built for fun (the speakers were 2 ways) . I didnt like the sound though so i gave them away. If i had some components then maybe they would of sounded like i wanted. ( I custom framed an enclosure in the doors were the bose were and they sound much better now.) If you want i will look to see if i have the prints that i drew up anywhere laying around. They didnt stick out very much(2 or 3") because i took off the kick panels and made my own using wood that was the entire size of the plastic ones , but extended the frame out the 2 ,3" and used 1/2"MDF and carpeted the entire enclosure. It looked stock when i was finished BUT, like i said if i had some components i think it would of sounded MUCH better. (basic speaking, it wasnt any different than the sound from the doors....hence the relocation) Later, Charles

I had a set built for my car

I love them. They sound better than anything you could put in the doors. I have some 5.25" in there but I could have fit a 6". Look on my website for pics.

I have a friend that had 6 inch Pods. They sounded great however, it was a very annoying experience driving his car. I'll see if he still has the pictures of his install.

Dave...

What kind of comps do you have in the kicks, and do you have any of your install pics laying around?
